This website was designed as part of the diploma project “Decision support solutions for improving drug safety in patients with chronic kidney disease” at the Medical University of Vienna.
The goal setting was to create a platform for supporting more safe drug use in patients with chronic kidney disease.
It was intended that those affected can look up which drugs may be harmful in case of impaired renal function. Furthermore this prototype platform provides individual check cards for patients, whom contain vital information like current Glomular Filtration Rate (GFR, needed for dosage adaption) and should be presented to the treating physician. By handing over the check card, doctors will be more aware of your kidney function and take it into consideration when prescribing medication. Ideally this will help with slowing down or even halting progression of chronic kidney disease and reduce number of adverse events.
